Lots of Soccer

Lots of soccer this weekend, but unfortunately, no victories. Grace and Elizabeth both tied games yesterday. Today, both Paul and Elizabeth's ICCL teams played for the championship. Paul's team lost 2-0 and Elizabeth's team lost 1-0. Both teams (and both of my kids) played their hearts out. Love to see them play like that!

Khuslen's 1st game at the football stadium

Khuslen went to watch the football game with his at the University of Minnesota stadium. He loved the game a lot and he even watched the game until the middle of the 3rd quarter. Brian and I were both so amazed that he paid attention to the game until the 3rd quarter.

Hooray! No fracture!

Arm/wrist x-rayed this afternoon.  Radiologist read it right away and told John it wasn't fractured.  That's a relief!  Now if we can just keep Grace "down" so that it can heal!

X-Rays on Monday

We'll probably be taking Grace for x-rays tomorrow.  She fell backwards and caught herself with her right hand/arm during her first soccer game yesterday.  Held her arm funny as she went to her coach crying.  She sat on my lap while the game went on and we iced it.  When the coach asked if she was ready to come back in, she said no.

Took her to the pediatrician about an hour later.  (love the after-hours at the pediatrician's office!)  The on-call doc examined it and said it could be fractured based on where it hurts and how she fell.  (right at the bottom of the radius) We could have had it x-rayed there yesterday but it wouldn't be read until Monday anyway.  Doctor and I decided to wrap it and watch it for 48 hours and then if it was still bothering her on Monday we'd go back in.

It is still bothering her today.  She can color but writing hurts.  She also cannot pick up anything with weight to it without her wrist hurting.  So, we'll be calling to get her in tomorrow.

I hope it's not fractured, but not sure a sprain is better.  We'll just take a deep breath and hope for the best - that she feels better soon.

Just thought you might want to know.  I'll update when I know more.
